Giovanni's Room.

Just a post on of my favourite books. Its by James Baldwin and is one of the first books to openly deal with homosexuality, its a beautiful, haunting book. It short and bitter sweet, i read it every few months. His other work is remarkable but its also quite a struggle to get through. Giovannis Room is the perfect introduction into one of the most iconic Black American writers.



This is the copy i have, its from the Penguin Great Loves series, the cover is lovely, reminiscent of one of the recent To Kill a Mockingbird covers.
